RON PERLMAN
Ron Perlman is working on a movie called The Last Supper, a comedy that's reportedly a semi-remake of the classic Arsenic and Old Lace. According to the Daily Variety for Nov. 11, The Last Supper began filming Nov. 1 in Los Angeles. Ron gets third billing, after Cameron Diaz and Jason Alexander, the latter known from his appearances on Seinfeld. Other castmembers include Bill Paxton, Courtney B. Vance, Anna Beth Gish, Charles Durning, Nora Dunn, Mark Harmon, Johathan Penner, and Ron Eldard. Thanks to Vivian Liebgold and Pam Sondag of Faces of Perlman for this information.

From helper Sandie Whited, more details about the video of Ron Perlman's Vampire movie, Cronos. It's out in several versions. At normal speed, the movie is two tapes priced at $168. Or you can have a single, extended play version priced at $94. To further complicate the matter, you can get it either subtitled or dubbed. We suggest you check with both Blockbuster and Suncoast (generally found in malls) if you want to order/buy a copy.

LINDA HAMILTON
Darlene Sullivan reports that when in Europe last year, perhaps in conjunction with the Cannes film festival, Linda Hamilton had a role in a 4-hour miniseries based on The Way to Dusty Death by Alastair McLean, perhaps best known as the author of The Guns of Navarone and other international thrillers. This miniseries stars Simon McCorkendale. It's being offered for international tv distribution; no word yet on whether any US tv network has picked it up. We'll keep you posted, and our eyes open for this sighting, if and when it's shown in this country.

MORE B&B VIDEOS...FINALLY!
Trish Kehoe of Vincent's World Press called the Hotline to report that through secret connections, she had a promotional flyer for the next four tapes actually in her hands. The ordering date is Dec. 14, release date is Jan. 4th. The episodes involved are 9-12: "Dark Spirit," "A Children's Story," "An Impossible Silence," and "Shades of Grey." They're priced at 14.95 each. Besides Blockbuster, another good source of B&B tapes is Suncoast, mostly found in malls. They're from Republic Home Video and their ordering numbers are (for #9) 5722, (for #10) 0247, (for #11) 5732 and (for #12) 5742. Nan encourages everyone to preorder and/or buy at least one of these tapes, to let Republic know we're still here and still interested. Letters help, but money always talks. Deborah Martin of Martin Enterprises will also undoubtedly be carrying the tapes, and you'll be able to order from her, once they're available.

ROY DOTRICE
According to Lyn Musaccio of the New England B&B Hotline, Roy Dotrice, now quite recovered from his illness last summer (reported to be Lyme disease), has been in Canada playing a nasty vicar in a version of The Scarlet Letter starring Demi Moore. Lyn also said that Roy returned briefly to the states to film his first appearance for this season on "Picket Fences," on which he has a recurring role as a priest.

A KINGDOM BY THE SEA...IN 1996
Fans' often expressed wish for an East Coast convention is going to be fulfilled in 1996. Lyn Musaccio of the New England B&B Hotline, with the help of the very dedicated group, the Dreamseekers, is going to put on the '96 B&B convention, "A Kingdom by the Sea." It's to be held in Norfolk VA, in the Omni Waterside hotel, July 12-14 1996. The official launch and the opening of registration will be at the '95 convention, "A Distant Shore," in Los Angeles. Nan commends Lyn and the Dreamseekers for taking on this very ambitious project. All the East Coast fans whom Nan's heard wishing for a convention more within their reach should start saving their pennies now.

JO ANDERSON IS STILL A BENNETT (CHARLOTTE)
On November 13, Jo Anderson resumed her role as Dr. Charlotte ("Charlie") Bennett on the NBC show "Sisters." She will continue to appear on that series on a regular basis through the remainder of the season. "Sisters" airs at 10:00 pm Saturdays, EST. The picture, below, appeared in the TV Guide for the week of 11/6/94.

GAZETTE PRICE GOING UP
An increase in US First-Class postage is expected to greet us in the new year. To compensate, the price of the Gazette in hard copy beginning in January, 1995, is going up to $1.50 per issue, or $18.00 a year. If you'd like to subscribe, multiply the number of months remaining to December, 1995 by $1.50 and send that amount to get the hard copy Gazette for the coming year. Of course, you can subscribe for less than a whole year, if you want to.

SILENT FALL GOES THUD
Here's the only post-release review we've seen so far of Linda Hamilton's new movie, Silent Fall, which had a pre-release showing at the end of the Hampton film festival. Jack Matthews of Newsday (Tuesday, October 25) in an article about the festival and all the films shown there, had this to say:

"Four other features had their world premieres at the second Hamptons, including Sunday's closer, Silent Fall, a shockingly uneven piece of commercial claptrap from so distinguished a filmmaker as Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy). The movie, which Warner Bros. opens nationally Friday [11/28], stars Richard Dreyfuss [sic] as a child psychiatrist trying to penetrate the mind of an autistic 9-year-old boy who witnessed the double-murder of his parents. What starts out looking like a disease-of-the-week TV movie, with clinical speeches about the nature of autism, quickly descends into a murder mystery too ridiculous for an episode of 'Matlock.'"

If other reviews surface where you are, please relay so we can pass them on.

CAP'N DADDY
Some months back, we were told by helper Roz Levinson that John McMartin (Charles Chandler) was due to portray Cap'n Andy in the New York revivial of the musical Showboat. Some pictures of that revival, featuring McMartin, surfaced in the Oct. 10 Newsweek, whose reviewer, Jack Kroll, described the production thus:

"Since it opened last season in Toronto, [Showboat] has gotten better, tighter: the performances have matured. Michel Bell delivers 'Ol' Man River' with a spine-tingling passion of resignation. Lonette McKee's rendition of 'Bill' rekindles the torch in torch song.... John McMartin's Cap'n Andy presides over the show's tragicomic revels like a hybrid of Puck and Uncle Sam. "'Revival' is a meager word for [Hal] Prince's production; it's a reincarnation."

[In the hard copy of the gazette, two pictures from Newsweek accompanied this article.

Notices & Factoids
Still no news on pub dates from Cinemaker for either Bright Spirit Descending or the Annotated Beauty and the Beast Guidebook (sigh)....

Thanks to Lyn Musaccio for this further information on the movie Ron Koslow is writing, Last Dance. According to Lyn, it's to star Sharon Stone as a sympathetic murderer whose lawyer falls in love with her. Last Dance is due to go into production next January and will be directed by Bruce Beresford, who also directed Silent Fall (see above).

There have been recent questions about the status of Pam Sondag's Faces of Perlman. Pam told Nan that all is well with that publication and that fan organization, and a new issue, a double, should be out soon. Pam explained that when somebody joins or sends for an issue of the newsletter, the first they hear back from her is the next issue that's mailed out, perhaps months later. Pam doesn't respond to each order, except with the newsletter itself, which is published irregularly several times a year. So if you've ordered Faces of Perlman some time ago and are concerned not to have gotten any response, don't worry: your newsletter will come in the mail as soon as the next one is published.

Those who watched the premiere of the new series "Earth 2" may have noticed that P.K. Simonds is one of the producers. Simonds wrote B&B episodes including "A Fair and Perfect Knight," "The Outsiders," "Nevermore," and "The Foresets of the Night." And Don Davis (who did the musical underscore for B&B) now performs that same chore for "Seaquest, DSV." Although nominated for an Emmy this last time around, he didn't win, alas, though John Debney, who did the main theme for that series, did win, Darlene Sullivan informs us. Seems as though Don just don't get no respect.... Ironically, both composers are represented by the same agent, we're told.

The Fall Q-fer (Helpers' Network Quality Fanzine Review) is now available. It's $8 for the full Q-fer (each issue completely updated) or $5 for the update (excerpting the new or changed information) to Helpers' Network. This price good worldwide. The awaited tape of Ron Perlman's Sensations (supplied by the kindness of helper Lynn Kramer) has now reached Nan. Existing orders will be filled immediately. If you want to order a copy, it's $8.50 to Helpers' Network. Double Exposure and the dud pilot, "Arly Hanks," are also available; all three can be put on one tape at the 6-hour speed, if you want.

The recent report of Liz Helm's revival of her Linda Hamilton International fan club, printed in error by Starlog and relayed in good faith by Darlene Sullivan, is incorrect. This fan club no longer exists.

Contrary to an unfortunate rumor for which Nan is in part responsible, Linda Hamilton remains unmarried.

The TunnelCon III tapes are out~and they're gorgeous! The TunnelCon III set is six hours (three tapes) and costs $50 plus $4 s/h; the phone number for Visa or Master Card orders is 918-743-3450. Or for mail orders, send check or money order to NovTek, Inc. Video Productions, 3171A, S. 129 E. Ave. #136, Tulsa OK 74134.
